The Bride - Dr Robyn Lamar
A Woman to be Reckoned With
I grew up in Georgia with my mom Debbie, dad Claude, sisters Gretchen and Heidi, and a menagerie of pets. I was born in Birmingham, Alabama but we moved around a bit when I was little—my dad did his residency up at Dartmouth—so I never ended up with a Scarlett O'Hara drawl. After a talk with my grandfather about "hippies and southern values", I headed across the country to Stanford, where I studied Human Biology.
Fulfilling a long held dream, I studied Italian and went abroad to Italy my junior year. The next fall I moved into the Italian theme house on campus, where I met a bunch of cute boys I couldn't keep straight. Only one of them was smitten enough to let me destroy his car's transmission learning to drive stick-shift, so I started dating him: Michael, of course.
I now live with Michael in a lovely Victorian house on a hill just barely on the non-foggy side of San Francisco. I graduated from medical school in May and will start a four-year residency in Obstetrics & Gynecology at Kaiser San Francisco June 20!
