Groom

The Groom - Michael Siliski

Not Ugly, but Lucky

I grew up in Newton, Massachusetts with my mother Toni, father John, and brothers Daniel and Andrew. In high school I was into photography, English, and football (though no one now belives I was once a fullback/linebacker!). After heading west to Stanford, I found myself studying Symbolic Systems—something akin to cognitive science—which I consider to combine the most interesting parts of psychology, philosophy, and computer science.

I also took some Italian and ended up studying in Florence and living in Stanford's Italian theme house for three glorious years. In my senior year I served as house manager, arriving early in September to help the residents get settled. That's how I met Robyn, the "really cute southern girl", as I described her to my friend Michael Payne (who's also from Georgia) the day she moved in.

Currently I live with Robyn in San Francisco's Lower Haight district. Until recently I worked at a division of Monster, where I was Director of Engineering as well as the Product Manager for Ringo.com, a photo sharing site. For now, though, I'm blissfully unemployed.
